NANAO is the name of the city located in the heart of the glorious countryside, in Northern Ishikawa, Japan. It is surrounded by sea and mountains, so it is easy to find places close to nature. And this is a traditional Japanese candle made in Nanao City, Noto Peninsula.
The candles are made by finding new shapes while retaining traditional materials and methods. The shapes are based on the curved silhouettes of the plants, expressing the characteristics of Japanese candles, that is, the wax and wick are also made of plant materials. There are five different candles shapes, each featuring a different plant that grows on the Noto Peninsula. These candles are named after the letters of the word "P-L-A-N-T".
